Luxury holiday cottages
Both our cottages provide:
- fully-equipped kitchens with fridge, separate freezer, full-size electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave
- an excellent range of kitchen equipment including sharp knives, coffee maker, oven gloves, bottle opener, lots of pots and pans, fine cutlery, good crockery and serving dishes, full range of glasses etc
- self catering kitchen basics - tea, fresh ground coffee, olive oil, salt, peppers, spices , fresh garden herbs
- log burning stove, logs, kindling and firelighters
- welcome breakfast hamper of local Herefordshire produce including our own eggs and bacon, local bread, butter and milk, marmalade and cereal.
- TV, DVD player, radio and stereo, and docking for ipod
- DVDs, CDs, games and paperbacks
- Wi-Fi
- good quality soap and toiletries, bath mat, shaver point, hairdryer
- fine bed linen and fluffy towels
- excellent supply of maps, books and information about the Herefordshire area
- benches, garden furniture and barbeques
We offer:
- our own produce for sale, including: home cured bacon, home made sausages and most cuts of pork from our free range rare breed Berkshires, as well as eggs from our free range hens
- breakfast in the farmhouse on the morning of departure
- a freezer stocked with local produce with items paid for as used.
We have some shared facilities:
- a laundry room with washing machine, drying facilities, iron and ironing board
- games room with full size billiards table and darts board
- lots of outdoor space for ball games, tree climbing, and running around
- plenty of parking , with room for 3 cars under cover
Children are always welcome: cots and high chairs can be supplied on request. There is plenty of safe space for children to roam, freedom for ballgames, climbing trees, running around or just messing about.
We aim to provide guests with the kind of experience that we look for ourselves in self catering holiday accommodation: luxury, comfort, warmth, attention to detail, good reading material, detailed information about the local Herefordshire area and recommendations about pubs and restaurants.
The cottages are fully self contained and separate. They would however be very suitable for two groups coming away together: the large sitting room in the Old Barn has a dining table that can seat nine people.
Smoking is not permitted in either holiday cottage.
One dog is permitted in the Old Barn by prior arrangement.
The Old Barn
The Old Barn sleeps 5. It is a very spacious, light and sunny cottage which opens into the sunny courtyard.
Downstairs
- very large sunny living room with large dining table, exposed beams and large log burning stove
- contemporary kitchen with kitchen table and chairs
- downstairs cloakroom
- views of the courtyard at the front, and the herb garden and chickens at the back
Upstairs
- master bedroom with luxurious double bed and built in wardrobes
- ensuite bathroom with bath and lots of exposed beams
- twin bedded room with built in wardrobe
- shower room with state of the art contemporary shower fittings
- small private sitting room with day bed for 5th guest.
Guests are welcome to bring one well behaved dog to the Old Barn by prior arrangement.
The Granary
The Granary sleeps 4 and is a charming cottage with old exterior stone steps leading to the granary store - now out of use except to hold flower troughs and containers.
Downstairs
- large kitchen with dining table and beautiful wooden fitted cupboards and welsh dresser
- sitting room with fine exposed beams, log burning stove and attractive woodframed windows looking into the courtyard and lane beyond
- downstairs cloakroom
- direct access to the gardens from the sitting room and kitchen
Upstairs
- very large master bedroom with a wonderful king size double bed and fine exposed beams . This room also includes a settee, dressing table, wardrobe and chest of drawers
- attractive bathroom with a bath and overhead shower
- twin bedded room overlooking the herb garden
There are a number of benches and garden seats around the grounds for the use of guests, who are free to explore our land. There is plenty of space for ball games and letting off steam for the young, or the young at heart.
A barn in the corner of our courtyard has been converted to house a games room with full sized billiard table and darts board which is freely available for the use of guests. We have four bicycles for the use of guests.
